INDIVIDUAL THERAPY SERVICES

Feeling at peace with the world.  Feeling like your life is full of meaning.  Surrounded by supportive friends and family.  Feeling energized when you wake up, excited to see what your day has in store for you.  We all crave these things.  Life doesn't always work out how we want it to though.

Whether it's invasive negative thoughts about yourself, emotions that seem to get the best of you, or self-defeating patterns of behavior, I promise to work with you explore your unique issues, and then to collaboratively figure out a plan to regain control of your life.  It is possible to re-shape your own life and feel those positive feelings you know are out there, by taking the step of starting the therapy process.

ADJUSTMENT TO LIFE'S DIFFICULTIES

Grief at losing a loved one.  Struggling to move on after a break-up or a divorce.  Having a sense of emptiness after your children move out of the house.  Feeling challenged to make it through these times is normal and human.  Let me help you navigate these difficult transitions to rediscover yourself and a renewed sense of wellness and enthusiasm.

THERAPY FOR ANXIETY

Many people struggle with fears and worries that feel all too real, but that they realize are interfering with their goals in life.  These concerns are manageable!  Therapy offers an excellent space to talk through your fears without feeling judged.  This can be the first step in moving past them and living up to your potential.

THERAPY FOR DEPRESSION

Depression can manifest itself in different ways for different people.  Regardless, managing negative thoughts and maintaining motivation can be extremely hard sometimes.  It doesn’t have to be horrible though.  The sooner you address it, the more of your life you will get to enjoy.

SUPPORTING STUDENTS AND FACULTY MEMBERS WITH ACADEMIC STRESSES

Undergraduate and Graduate education can be extremely stressful times for many people.  Is the stress of trying to get good grades getting the best of you?  Is trying to build your C.V. or resumé through your research or projects not going as well as you’d like?  Are you a faculty member feeling like you're overwhelmed with expectations placed on you?  I’ve been around the academic system for a long time, and am familiar with the nature of these struggles.
